BORCULO ELITE FOAL AUCTION JUMPING AND DRESSAGE COLLECTIONS ONLINE

The foals for the 2019 Borculo Elite Foal Auction have been selected and can now be found online, where they make an excellent compilation of 50 extremely interesting showjumping foals and 58 extraordinary dressage foals. Following the launch of both the new Borculo Online Foal Auction and the Borculo CDI Foal Auction as well as the successful second edition of the Borculo CSI Foal Auction, all is now geared towards the climax befitting this 40th anniversary year: the Borculo Elite Foal Auction at the end of August.
Candy, Van ’t Roosakker and Van Klapscheut BWP lines
On Wednesday 28 August, the showjumping foals selected on the basis of confirmation, movement and pedigree are to kick off the auction in the appealing PSC Lichtenvoorde accommodation based in Vragender (Netherlands). To give but an enticing preview, several foals are by proven progenitors such as Balou du Rouet, Casall Ask, Cicero Z, Cornet Obolensky, Comme Il Faut, Emerald and Verdi TN, and also by less used world-class horses such as Don VHP Z and Tobago Z. The dam lines make these young athletes in the making truly exclusive, such as foals by Casall from the direct lines behind Usha van ’t Roosakker and Coriana van Klapscheut and a foal out of Verdi’s full sister. This wonderful collection is also comprised of foals out of sisters to Toulon and Unaniem, out of daughters of Candy (Pieter Devos) and VDL Groep Think Twice II (Leopold van Asten) and out of the dams of Zenith SFN (Jeroen Dubbeldam) and Haertthago (Leon Thijssen).
Out of full sister to Valegro
A similar story goes for the dressage foals that are to come under auctioneer Frederik De Backer’s hammer on Thursday 29 August. The sires behind these exceptional foals in terms of confirmation and movement are a mix of young talent and active Grand Prix stallions from the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, with names such as Desperado, Dream Boy, Glamourdale, Franklin, Bernay, Dante’s Junior, Escolar, Springbank II VH and Blue Hors stallions Zackerey, Farrell and Kingston. In this collection also the dam lines pave the way for a promising career in sport and breeding. Among others, we find foals from the direct lines behind Ferro and the well-known mares Murona and Dolly, and also out of a sister to Orlandus (Lorraine van den Brink), a sister to Enzo Ferrari and Iveniz Texel and a full sister to the legendary Valegro (Charlotte Dujardin). The famous mare Charites appears in the foals’ pedigrees more than once, with the foal out of the dam of Dorado (Anna Zibrandtsen) as an example.
New: online bidding
For the first time, Borculo Elite Foal Auction buyers at a distance can make their bid on foals online. Following its successful launch at this year’s new Borculo CDI Foal Auction, this novelty is now operational for all four Borculo auction concepts. After registering online buyers can make real-time bids on the exquisite foals auctioned 28 and 29 August.
Time schedule and performance Syb van der Ploeg
On both auction days, we have the same time schedule. At 4 pm the presentation of the foals takes place in the outdoor arena. The continuation of the program is in the PSC Lichtenvoorde’s indoor arena. Prior to the auction there is a performance by Syb van der Ploeg, known as lead singer of the Dutch band De Kast. After the performance of Van der Ploeg there is a short break before we start the auction at 7.30 p.m.
