BORCULO ONLINE FOAL AUCTION: TWO JUMPING FOALS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Last week, we reported about the Borculo Online Foal Auction’s first selected dressage foals. This week we gladly lift a corner of the veil in regard to two very interestingly bred jumping foals. Both of them a filly, and ideal to every breeder for setting up a striking dam line. With their strong models, movement and background these foals will unmistakably have talent for the sport.
'Very beautiful type'
The first filly (photo) is out of a famous Dutch dam line. Her sire is the Holstein top progenitor Colman. He stands at the basis of a series of striking jumpers, such as L.B. Convall (Philipp Weishaupt), Catwalk IV (Robert Whitaker) and Emir R (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson). The dam is by Calido I, producer of famous broodmares. In 2018, she already brought a KWPN approved stallion. The granddam produced a former Dutch champion in jumping and the great granddam also produced a famous Grand Prix horse. Selector Pieter-Jan Berkers: ‘This filly has a very beautiful type and a light-footed canter.’

Popular KWPN stallion
The second filly is by Apardi, a 2016 Olympic Games participant with Daniel Bluman and a full brother to Bacardi VDL (Janika Sprunger/Edwina Tops-Alexander). She is her dam’s first foal, who is by the impressive breeding stallion Thunder van de Zuuthoeve. The granddam produced a very popular KWPN stallion. He is a young international jumper and has already several approved sons. Selector Floris van Leuken: ‘This filly has an appealing model, with a beautiful head. She moves very nicely!’
