CHAMPIONS AT FOAL AUCTION BORCULO

The Central Inspections of KWPN North-Brabant turned out to be a successful day for the foals of Foal Auction Borculo. Thanks to a sizeable prize pool, free participation and international judges, the event drew significant interest. Trotting machine Rose of Turona (s.Las Vegas) was crowned champion. Rain-Beau GS (s.Le Formidable) placed second in the group of fantastic fillies and was vice-champion. Earlier, Lagherta LMD (s.Las Vegas) also acquired the championships ribbon. Four foals in total received an invite to the National Foal Championships.

Take off in trot
Thanks to the handsome prize pool, free participation and international judge panel there was a broad interest in the inspections. Marion Dorresteijn’s comments on the foals were entirely positive: “Champion Rose of Turona (Las Vegas out of Turona ster pref prest PROK by Negro) of breeder M.J. Wijlaars of Nuenen made a good impression in both rounds. This is a well-developed, high-legged foal with a beautiful front and correct foundation. She moves with an incredible posture, in which she almost takes off but still moves elastically through her body. She has a lot of freedom in the shoulder and extends and collects very well, even at a slower pace she maintains her balance. Her canter stands out because of her body use”, explains Marian Dorresteijn.

Self-carriage
Placing second was the Le Formidable-foal Rain-Beau GS (out of Labeau GS elite EPTM-dres PROK by Fellini) of breeder E. Gesthuizen-Smits of Ottersum. “A high-legged, alluring foal with an appealing front. She could be a tad stronger in the top line but moves with good tact, self-carriage and easily lengthen and shortens in movement.”

National Foal Championships
Among a hotly contested group of colts, Rens L (s.Lord Romantic) and Rockstar (s.Le Formidable) also earned a ticket for the National Foal Championships. Rens L was sold during the Early Summer Auction and Rockstar is part of the collection for August.

Vice-champion Oldenburg
Earlier, Lagtherta LMD (s.Las Vegas) was elected vice-champion of the Oldenburg foal inspections in Lieshout. This filly has presence, an incredible movement mechanism and a good pedigree.

August 4, the Foal Auction Borculo collection is launched.
