FOAL AUCTION BORCULO OPTS FOR ONLINE AUCTION IN 2020

These are challenging times, but the foal season is moving forward as per usual. The selection for the elite auction on the 26th and 27th of August is in full swing and the commissions have selected the first foals already. The extension of the Covid-19 measures has led the organization of Foal Auction Borculo to make the decision to transform this year’s edition of the prestigious auction, that ordinarily takes place in Lichtenvoorde, to an online auction.
In order to guarantee the safety of the breeders and buyers, it is necessary to comply with the stipulated guidelines. The sale of foals will be different this year due to the virus and has urged the organization to look for alternative possibilities. Annelou de Man on behalf of the organization: “We have chosen to provide clarity about the format of the elite auction early-on in the season. This makes it clear to breeders how we are going to auction the foals and allows us to fully focus on enthusing our buyers for the collection. We have designed an innovative marketing strategy that will undoubtedly make our online auction another big success. As always, quality is our top priority. We want to auction the best that our Dutch breeders have to offer and our team is highly motivated to make that happen.”
Auctioning online is not new to Foal Auction Borculo. In 2019 an online auction was organized and also during the CDI, CSI and the Elite auction international buyers put in their bids online.
