JUMPER FOALS FIND READY DEMAND AT FOAL AUCTION BORCULO

Aug 24, 2022

Wednesday night Elite Foal Auction Borculo had a wonderful opening night of two auction days. The jumper foals were sold for an average of €10.230,-.

Dutch make their move
The top sum was paid for Pearl, a daughter of Casall out of a dam by Berlin. A long and intense bidding duel between the United States and Letland was eventually won by team USA. She yielded 21.000 euros. The runner-up was Creatyon van HH at 18.000 euros, he is an offspring of the fantastic showjumper Dywis HH of Maikel van der Vleuten. Dutch buyers seized their chance, since also Unforgetable Z (17.000 euros) and Wargos d’Eclipse (16.000 euros) remain on Dutch soil. Interest was shown from France, Germany, and Hungary. And yet these talents could be safeguarded for Dutch sport. Although the foreign bidders dominated the first days of the auction, it was the Dutch breeders that swooped in during the last minutes of the auction to put in the winning bid.

Swinkels and Van den Broek score
The new selection duo Jos Swinkels and Henk van den Broek knew exactly what buyers are looking for: sport models with solid pedigrees. The foals revenued above-average prices and the auction could count on customers from all over the world.

Transparent
Annelou de Man comments on behalf of the organisation: “We look back on a very successful night. We want to be transparent as an auction, do not play games and provide good service with quality foals for the future. Customers must be able to trust blindly on the quality we offer. In our eyes, that’s a solid foundation on which we can build the coming years. We are extremely proud of the result of this first night, it gives us a taste for more.”

Tomorrow, the online dressage auction closes. At half past 7 the first foal falls under the virtual gavel.
