WIDE RANGE OF SUCCESSES AT KWPN STALLION SHOW

As Foal Auction Borculo we can look back at the KWPN Stallion Show 2019 with satisfaction. We experienced a remarkable diversity of successes during this edition of the stallion inspection. Again we were represented in the dressage stallions’ championship ring! This year it was Lugano (opening photo, Governor x Johnson, breeder P. Buwalda / owner J.P. Dalsem) who took the honours. This impressive dark brown stallion was praised for his lightness and self-carriage in movement and clinched fifth spot in what showed to be a strong 2019 draft. Lugano is bred out of the interesting elite dam Ekaterina, who in her turn was produced by Small Tour mare Randy-Star (s. Lancet). Last year, Randy-Star's son Next Deniro H (s. De Niro) was sold at our Elite Foal Auction for € 27,000.

Imposantos impresses again

A second highlight was the victory of Imposantos (Wynton x Krack C, breeder W. Wijnen/owner T. Driessen) in the finale of the KWPN Stallion Competition for 6 year olds. Imposantos, as a foal sold at our auction, impressed under Bart Veeze. His performance was rewarded with only 9.5’s and a single 9 and realised a supreme double (a final and overall victory). After last year’s victories in the Stallion Competition and Pavo Cup Imposantos now completed a rare triple.

Another former Borculo-foal and later on KWPN approved stallion impressed through his offspring. High Five U.S.(Charmeur x Negro, breeder Chr. De Feyter Seydlitz, Axel owner J.M. van Uytert & P. ​​Schockemöhle) got two sons appointed for the performance test, namely dressage stallion Lamborghini (ds. Olivi) and Gelder stallion Leopold P (ds. Koss).

Similar success could be noted during the jumping stallions’ inspection. Two striking stallions, both bred and owned by the Van de Pol family, are produced by mares purchased at our Elite Foal Auction. A very strong performance was realised by Lovemaker VDP, a direct son of Heartbreaker and the top dam Chardonnay VDP (Quidam de Revel x Colino, breeder M. Liefhebber). One day later, Legend VDP (by Grand Slam VDL) really convinced during his jumping performance. His dam Cendy VDP (Triomphe de Muze x Corland, breeder A. N. van der Wey) is nowadays very successful at 1.50m level. These wonderful results confirm once again that Foal Auction Borculo is the perfect place to purchase genetically high-quality (brood)mares.
